In the Hamptons, Serena and Blair are enjoying the hot, sunny days beside the pool. They have their first encounter with Nate where Nate realizes he still has deep feelings for Blair. For Vanessa her job has taken a major toll on her. She works long hard days for little pay. Is this the end of Vanessa's babysitting career? Back in New York, Dan has started a book club with his new friend Greg. Greg has been Dan's only friend this past summer. Dan misses Vanessa a lot and Greg has been very helpful in helping Dan keep his mind off Vanessa. Another way for Dan to keep his mind off Vanessa is his book club but he is worried no one will show up. Will Dan's book club be a big success or will his prediction be right and his club really will be a no show?
